Talks about establishment of the Sunshine Climate Club, the El Conquistador Hotel, and the Tucson Regional Plan and people who had an early influence on development including Morris Reid, John Murphey, Monte Mansfield, and Bill Mathews. Relates the story behind the Legislature's funding of the University of Arizona Medical School, the Central Arizona Project, and the first evaporative coolers in homes and theaters. Also gives his views on growth and satellite communities. Briefly mentions the Tucson Thirty organization.
